What do you recommend for gratuity?

Gratuity for staff is not included in the package price. Gratuity is always at the discretion of the guest. A standard recommendation is 10-20% of the lodge package, or $170 - $340 per guest per day. It may be prepaid at request.

We ask that cash tips are not offered to individuals but may be designated and paid to our managers at check-out.

Is alcohol included in the package or do I have to bring my own?

Complimentary beer and wine at dinner is provided at Chelatna Lake Lodge. If you would like to bring specialty alcohol, beer or wine, we ask you to BYO (bring your own). We can also arrange to have specialty alcohol delivered to the lodge before your arrival.

What is the cancellation policy?

There is a 10-day grace period after booking, where deposits will be refunded in full minus $100 admin fee. Due to our limited space in a season, after you book with us we may have to turn other business away. Because of this we are not able to refund any deposits after the 10-day grace period. Thank you for your understanding. We highly recommend all guests purchase travel insurance. Due to our remoteness and short-season, we cannot offer refunds for changes or cancellations due to weather.

What is the weather like?

The weather in Denali country can be quite dynamic. Around summer solstice, the sun sets approximately at 11:30 PM and rises again around 4:30 AM, providing just over 5 hours of daylight. The brevity in daylight hours contributes to swift seasonal changes, influencing the weather accordingly. In general the temperature ranges from the mid 40's to the upper 60's through our 4 month season.

When can we see the Northern Lights?

As the days get shorter from mid-August through September you might get a chance to see the northern lights, but because the phenomenon is unpredictable there’s never a guarantee.
